The Ellen Degeneres Show
The month the Thomas Fire broke out I had written a message to The Ellen Show asking for some help when it comes to spreading the word about how people can volunteer and donate money to animal shelters since they were in need of help. When I originally sent in the message, I never thought this would go anywhere since it's probably the last thing they would expect. Fast forward one month I had been contacted by the audience producer wanting to hear more about my volunteer work. I had simply told her that I am a fan of Ellen and the message she gives off to others and thought since we had the same vision of helping others, maybe she could mention it on the show? I mean, if I can raise 1k in 48 hours I can't even imagine what she could do if she just talked about it. After giving her my story, she thanked me for everything I did, and extended a ticket to attend her show. Who would have thought that my easy message would not only have been seen, but land me a seat to the show? Little did I know, it wasn't going to be a typical show - it was her 60th birthday. The audience was filled with others that have done something great as apart of her "One Million Acts of Good" challenge.
Even though this show was full of celebrities (see below), my favorite part was hearing everyone's stories. This was a great reminder for me that even when we don't know what is going to happen next in this world, it's flooded with amazing people.
