For the last 2 years, San Miguel De Allende has been voted the best city in the world by TravelandLeisure.com which got me incredibly excited when my boyfriend surprised me with a trip here for Christmas.

Cobble stone streets, outdoor libraries, galleries, shopping and lots of incredible food.

Every street is full of vibrant colored buildings, walls, interesting doors. Surrounded by beautiful trees and of course no matter where you are, you hear the bells of Las Monjas.

If you’re looking for the perfect getaway either solo, with your lover or even family, I couldn’t have a stronger recommendation for you.

We stayed at the Caldestino Hotel which was in the heart of everything. This boutique hotel only has a few rooms and comes with complimentary breakfast (it doesn’t get any better than that).

After breakfast we do what everyone does when they travel - explore!

Here are a few of my recommendations:

  • FOOD- La Unica - I’d recommend heading up to the rooftop for dinner. Lovely views and incredible food

  • DRINKS - Rosewood Hotel - 360 views of the town and delicious cocktails.

  • FOOD - Jancito 1930 - Probably my favorite place. Most incredible mushroom taco I have ever had.

  • STREET FOOD - tacos, tacos, TACOS!

Check out the local vendors selling pottery, hats, bags etc

Even if you decided not to use my recommendations, I promise, you will absolutely love this place.

Happy Travels!

xx,

Liz
